IndexAI is a community of users and developers who believe in bridging the gap between blockchain and AI. IndexAI believes in releasing its projects early to the community for feedback, which helps inform its roadmap, set the direction, and utilize the $IAI token to compensate the DAO and developers.
IndexAI’s first project, our Large Language Model, is a great start and has the potential to deliver so much more. To continue our fast pace, we are releasing the developer roadmap publicly, with the goal of bringing together more developers to help build and improve the LLM.

Roadmap:
1. Token-Gated Chat
$IAI serves as a payment instrument to use the LLM. LLM’s require payment for two reasons: there are direct costs (servers, GPUs, hosting, etc) and to provide compensation for the DAO.
IndexAI is a long term and durable organization. As such, proper incentives for our community and the ability to self sustain off LLM revenue is critical to future growth. Developers who spend their time and energy building cutting edge AI deserve to be rewarded with $IAI tokens from the users who utilize the LLM and other projects.
As such, IndexAI’s immediate next roadmap item is to add token gating to our current LLM. This will involve building an AA wallet into the LLM chat interface, calculating the cost per transaction, and charging a small amount of LLM with each query.
2. Underlying GPT Improvements
IndexAI’s team is evaluating multiple GPT model options to power the LLM, including training our own. The team will evaluate the results of different GPTs, as well as bring together developers that can define metrics for success and determine the pros and cons of training our own GPT.
3. Open Source IndexAI
IndexAI thrives as more developers join our community. As such, open sourcing our projects, including the initial LLM, will allow us to grow faster, fix bugs, and better scope the roadmap. The initial developer community worked quickly to bring the initial LLM to market, and cleaning up the code before open sourcing it will allow the maximum number of developers to begin contributing as soon as possible.
4. Community Governance Platform
As we onboard more developers, the $IAI token will serve as a form of governance, letting the community further inform the technical roadmap, future projects, and $IAI distributions for developers. Building an agile governance platform will let us scale our community faster.
5. LLM Plugins
Our LLM is more powerful as we integrate more data sources. Plugins allow LLMs to access third party data– imagine if our LLM had real time data from sources like Nansen or Dune? We need our developer community’s help building these plugins, which will allow our IndexAI LLM to expand its scope and empower a broader set of blockchain AI users.
6. Improving the LLM’s On Chain Capabilities
Our LLM can perform actions on chain, but we want to add far more capabilities. Top of mind features include token swaps, analyzing smart contracts, writing and deploying smart contract code, and much more.
